Step 1:
Gather all of the ingredients for the provolone grilled cheese. Use sourdough bread if you like.

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Then, flip it with the buttered side down.

Add sliced provolone and mozzarella, and close with another slice of bread, with the buttered side up.

Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-low heat. Once hot, add the sandwiches to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes, then flip.

Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until both sides are golden and the cheese inside is melted.
