Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Turmeric

To a bowl, add eggs, olive oil, yogurt, sugar, and lemon juice. You can use more or less lemon zest depending on your taste.

Mix well until creamy and no chunks of yogurt or egg remain. To a smaller bowl, mix the dry ingredients- flour, salt, baking powder, turmeric, and black p.

Sift the dry ingredients into the wet and mix using a rubber spatula. Don't overmix! Small clumps of flour are okay.

Pour the cake batter into a bread loaf lined with parchment paper and bake for 45-50 minutes. Halfway through, cover with aluminum foil to prevent burning.

Insert a toothpick in the center of the cake, and if it comes out clean, it's ready. Take it out of the oven. Let it cool completely on a cooling rack.

Mix powdered sugar with a few tablespoons of lemon juice and drizzle over the cake. Let it set for 5 minutes, then serve!

Use a scale! Measuring cups are not as accurate as using a scale is and with baking, you really want to be as precise as possible for the best results.


You can serve this cake on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream on top. It's delicious served with tea or coffee.
