Naan Bread Recipe without Yogurt

Step 1: Gather all of the ingredients for this naan bread without yogurt. Make sure to use lukewarm water.

Step 2: In a small bowl, add the water, sugar, and yeast and whisk until they dissolve. Set aside for 10-15 minutes, until bubbly.

Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, measure the flour and stir in the salt. Stir the yeast alongside the olive oil, almond milk, and lemon juice.

Step 4: Using a fork, mix until the dough becomes sticky. Then grease your hands and mix until the dough forms into a bowl.

Step 5: Transfer the dough to a clean surface and grease your hands again. Knead for 5-6 minutes, until smooth.

Step 6: Grease a large bowl and transfer the dough. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise for 90 minutes.

Step 7: After rising, lightly punch down the dough to release air. Then grease your hands, and knead it for 1-2 minutes.

Step 8: Using a knife or a bench scraper, divide the dough into 8 balls. Let them rise for 30 more minutes.

Step 9: Sprinkle some flour onto a clean surface. Using a rolling pin, roll each dough ball into an oval shape.

Step 10: Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the dough to hot the skillet. Cook for 40-60 seconds.
